 TERIYAKI'S ORIGIN. 

The word teriyaki in Japanese is alluded to a strategy of either flame broiling or cooking a type of a protein with a sauce (tare) that gives it a shin. The shin or the sparkle originates from that lovely coating acquired from the sugar that is utilized in the sauce. Generally, the base elements for the 'tare' were soy sauce, purpose (or mirin), and sugar. The sauce would be cooked down to a specific consistency so as to be utilized either for marination or for seasoning of a picked fish or protein. Ingredients For the Marinade:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ginger root, grated fresh
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced, tops included

The Chicken Wings:


·         24 large chicken wing pieces, forewings and drumsticks.


·         Hungarian sweet paprika (Dash).


STEPS TO COOK IT:


1.   Combine the soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, ginger root, and pepper in a small saucepan.

2.   Heat on low until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool the temperature.

3.   Stir well with green onions

4.   Store the chicken wings in a freezer bag.

5. Pour in the cooled teriyaki marinade, and seal. Refrigerate 12 hours or overnight.


TIME TO COOK:


1.   Preheat the oven to 375 F.  Baking pan with foil and place a cooling rack in the bottom of the pan.

2.   Place the chicken wings on the rack, cover them with the marinade from the bag and sprinkle paprika.

3.   Cover the pan tightly with foil, bake for 45 minutes.

4.   Remove the foil, high the oven temperature to 425 F, bake for another 15 minutes until the skin turns brown. 


SERVE OVEN BAKED CHICKEN WINGS:


   Toss the oven-baked chicken wings with half of the teriyaki sauce, serve on a platter with sprinkled toasted sesame seeds.
